Course Information/Registration

The ProTeach Support Course consists of three Saturday classes each quarter, with an entry being developed each quarter.  Entry 1 will be completed fall quarter, Entry 2 the winter quarter, and Entry 3 the spring quarter.

See the table below for a summary of the course topics and tasks to be accomplished.  If you choose to take the course for credits and pass/fail grade, you will follow the syllabus illustrating the work to complete for credits (see menu bar for the syllabus).

The instructional approach involves direct instruction, peer review, and cooperative learning.    Just as importantly, as the instructor, I will review each textbox you complete and provide guiding questions to help you remember exactly what is expected in your portfolio.  I stay in close contact with my students.  They often write to me throughout the entire quarter.   I take pride in helping students be successful.

I also help pace you through the entries by chunking the textboxes to complete.  Due dates for the work are promoted.  Peer review of completed work is conducted at each session.

While I have currently suspended the classes, a typical school year schedule is below.

Cost:   The cost of the class for each quarter is $275. If you enroll for all three entries, which almost everyone has done in the past, the total will be $825. The course fees include the Saturday in-class sessions, all printed materials, review of each entry, individual consultation and guidance for a total of 20 hours per quarter. (Note: The course fees do not include the cost for credits nor clock hours.)

Credits/Clock Hours:   You may choose to obtain credits or clock hours through Seattle University, but you are under no obligation to do so. Each quarter is two credits, at $40 per credit, or a total of $80 per quarter. You can choose if you want credits for the entire year (6 credits total), or just some quarters, or none. The other option is to obtain clock hours. The course provides 20 clock hours each quarter, for a potential of 60 clock hours for all three quarters. Clock hours cost $2 per clock hour, or a total cost of $120.

You do not need to register for the credits or clock hours, although many teachers choose to do so.

Registration Deposit Payment:  A non-refundable deposit of $75 is due to reserve a place in the class.  The class size averages 20-25 students per quarter.  This fee can be paid through the link to PayPal (see below).   It will be applied towards the final full tuition cost of $275 for the quarter (thus a balance of  $200).

The final full ProTeach Support Course fees will be collected during registration before the first class of each quarter, payable by credit card or check.  An invoice will be sent to you before the first class each quarter, payable before the quarter begins.   If you choose to obtain credits or clock hours through Seattle University, that payment will be collected separately during the first session of each class as well, payable by credit card or check made out to Seattle University.
